Frequently asked questions

Prices / How much will Alfies Studio charge?

That really depends on your project. We are working on basic prices for printed goods to give you an idea (as well as a shop to buy "off the peg") but in the mean time - ask us, we won't bite (or charge for advice!).

Do you do corporate design?

Yes we do. Most of our work examples are personal design because we think they better reflect the work that we do and our approach. If you are a business and want to see worky things – see our corporate design examples by clicking here or following the link on our lookbook page.

What do you do at Alfies?

Corporate design – logos, stationery, mailouts, flyers, large format design. Anything we haven’t mentioned just ask – we probably will do that too.

Personal design - party invitations, birth announcements, personal stationery, greetings cards, moving announcements and wedding packages which can include: save the date cards, invitations, information/map inserts, rsvp cards, customised envelopes, venue signage, ceremony programs, guest signing sheets (the contemporary take on a guest book), menus, seating plans, place names, favour packaging (we have some amazing ideas for favours and the templates/recipes are coming soon), thank you cards.

If there is something we haven’t mentioned… just ask.

Can you work with any budget?

Yes we can. If you come to us with only a fiver to spend we might not be able to give you very much but we love coming up with innovative ideas that stretch your cash and not your budget.

I have no idea what I want, is that a problem?

Creatively no. We’ll correspond with you to gain information on your personality and what you are trying to achieve and hopefully come up with something reflective of you and what you want. We’re good at figuring out what you want even when you don’t know what that is. What we do need you to know is quantity/items etc.

I have a colour scheme – can you work with it?

Always. If you can send us a swatch we’ll do our best to match it. We’ll send a proof to check you are happy with what we have come up with before we proceed with printing.

Tell me about time constraints…

Minimum of six weeks where possible. The longer the better as we like to get to know you and take our time over the process as we feel the more we know about you and the project; the better the final creative result will be. We will always keep an open dialogue on how long we think things will take and let you know if you are holding us up by forgetting to give us information and so on.

What do I need to do to start the custom design process?

Get in touch with us and tell us what you have coming up and how you want us to be part of it. We’ll tailor everything else to your budget and time frame and let you have a detailed plan to agree to.

Will I see a proof before printing?

Yes you can see a proof. We like to know that everything is as it should be to avoid any nasty surprises when you get the finished product through the post (this is a new feature we are working on).

Can you help me with wording?

We can help you with wording. When you sign us up to be part of your project we’ll pass on any guidelines we have that are relevant.

How much is postage?

Postage and packaging are charged at cost price and will be calculated separate to your order (we can’t determine costs until your order is packaged and ready to post as costs vary based on weight/size).

What is your return/refund policy?

On all custom work we have a no return/refund policy as all work has been completed just for you and is not re-saleable. Sorry to sound mean but it has to be that way and hopefully you shouldn’t need to know about that anyway. We should also mention that once you’ve signed something off any re-prints are at your cost.
